About Zurich

Zurich is the largest city in Switzerland and offers a wide range of attractions in the areas of culture, gastronomy and shopping. Along the river Limmat or on the lakeshore, there are many beautiful places to enjoy and relax. The city can be explored on foot or by public transport.
How to get to Zurich
Zurich is located in the center of Switzerland, at the heart of Europe and can easily be reached by train or by plane:
By plane:
You can reach Zurich by flying to external page Zurich Airport ZRH (10 km / 6 miles from the city center). From the airport, you may travel by train to the Zurich main railway station (see below). Trains run daily between the airport ("Zürich Flughafen") and Zurich Main Station ("Zürich HB") every 5–10 minutes between around 5.00am and 0.30am.
By train:
Zurich Main Station ("Zurich Hauptbahnhof", short: "Zürich HB") is the largest railway station in Switzerland, with good connections to all major Swiss Cities as well as many large cities in the surrounding countries. Zurich Main Station is located right at the heart of town and hosts the Tourist Service of Zurich Tourism. ETH Zurich main campus - the symposium venue - is reached in about 15 minutes by foot or by tram (see below).

Please make sure to buy your tickets before boarding the train at the train station or online!
